Motor head

In the modern bimetal engine, an aluminum cylinder head often is fixed against the deck of a cast-iron block. This component works very hard to keep pressures because modern bimetal engines have a greater tendency toward cylinder head and head gasket problems. New gasket designs usually handle these strains and pressures well. But, if the stress is compounded by excess engine temperatures, the cylinder head or its associated gaskets can fail. When the dike breaks, in many cases, one or more cylinders can develop leaks. IML MOTORI is a well known supplier of quality motor cylinder heads to the automobile industries all over the world.

Piston head

Piston head in the engine is a component placed inside the cylinder from end to end of which it moves alternately under the pressure of the steam. By means of the piston rod attached to it this, forward and backward motion is communicated to the machinery which the engine is employed to drive and in most cases converted into rotary motion by a connecting-rod, one end of which is jointed to the cross head carried at the end of the piston-rod, while the other turns the crank on the crank shaft. In every case the piston must fit the cylinder so accurately that the working fluid can escape past it, packing of various forms being commonly placed round its periphery in order to secure this fit.
